18-20” tall upright, narrow green ribbon leaves spangled with yellow spotting form a tight, slowly expanding clump; short dark leaf sheaths at leaf bases add interest. Shade, even deep shade…grows fastest in a moist rich soil. Also an easy houseplant where light lovers won’t thrive. A genus that is sadly underused!
