Sweet spring woodland bloomer from the forests of the eastern US, dainty with ferny foliage in slowly expanding clumps 4-6” tall and 12” wide. Bright white flowers resembling anemones in late spring. Easy in well drained, rich soil in part shade to shade, perfect for the shaded rock garden! We grow ours under rooty trees and that seems to keep the winter soils dry enough… Ephemeral, so it emerges with the spring rains, flowers and goes dormant in summer and fall. An irrigated situation will coax the leaves into hanging around longer. Deer and critter resistant.
